Another day, another Lana Del Rey leak. In what seems like a daily occurrence, Del Rey jams appear to just drop like flies, so much so you could make about 7 studio albums. Seriously at last count, I counted over 100 unreleased songs of hers, 7+ of which have leaked this week, including this gem, 'I'm Legit'. The leaks are usually 50/50 in terms of quality. Half of them being genuinely amazing Lana Del Rey tracks, and the other half being some sort of aftermath of a 24 hour booze and drug binge. This track here, meets a very happy medium between the two.
Going hard on Lady GaGa, Del Rey sings "Stefani you suck and now you’re sellin’ plenty million. Wish they could have seen you when we booed you off in Williamsburg". Yes, she really did just go there. Venting and ranting with alcohol-induced like vocals, she continues "Oh girl, I see you walking round in your pearls thinking that you’re number one
You’re so funny designing your ****". She goes on to proclaim "Have we all gone GaGa crazy?". Your faves could never.
Now you might be wondering why I like this so much and truth be told, its fucking brilliant. Del Rey throwing shade at GaGa has shown us a feisty side of the songstress. A side of which, which is real and venting in such a way no other pop star would dare to is refreshing as it is scandalous. I could almost bet she didn't plan on this leaking, but it could be the best damn thing that's ever happened to her. The press around this will surely blow up sparking all kind of debate. Everyone is already talking about this. Sure the Little Monsters will go on Anti-Lana tirades, and GaGa will inevitably play the victim, but if anything, Lana Del Rey is cooler than ever now.
