Earlier today, the red-headed firecracker premiered a second video for soon to be hit, 'American Girl'. The first version (which was featured on my blog
here) is a fun-filled viral sensation that compliments the song perfectly, boasting special appearances from all her celebrity friends from the likes of Katy Perry and even KISS. So you can imagine the confusion behind releasing a second video..with no Katy Perry or KISS..
Instead we get Mckee running around with two friends who aren't Katy Perry or KISS (or anyone relevant for that matter) causing mayhem around town stealing food and cars and well, being an all round 'American Girl' (do you see what she did there?). Then when you think the party's over when the car they stole blows up just metres from where they are, think again! They laugh hysterically, toast marshmallows over the toxic flames and have a big ol' house party like the responsible adults they are!
Though its nice to see Bonnie getting some strong backing for her new single with such a glossy visual, there was really no need. I could understand the reasoning behind releasing a new video, so the attention could be more about Bonnie and less about the celebrities but the original was so much fun and really memorable, whereas this version well..we've kinda seen this done before 1,369,625 times. In conclusion, cute visual, no need! Save it for your second single girl!
